- Spectacular Spider-Man animated trailer (EEP! Man, that looks cool.)
- The teaser trailer for the new Iron Man movie coming in May 2008.
- Mark Waid = Boom! Studios new Editor-in-Chief. Good for you Ross Richie!
- Kevin Smith will write and direct the first episode of Heroes: Origins. Expect a lot of dialogue about penises.
- SCUD, the Disposable Assassin will finally finish its story at Image Comics…most likely in the form of a giant-sized volume collecting the entire run. Oh, and Corey Lewis (Sharknife) has a new book coming soon in the Image SlimLine format.
- Warren Ellis and Simone Bianchi will assume the creative reins of Astonishing X-Men. Meh. It still won’t come out on time.
- DC announced that Grant Morrison and JG Jones will tackle Final Crisis in 7 oversized issues. I might actually buy that one.
- Is this 1986? Sam & Max, Flaming Carrot and Gumby all win Eisner Awards (and a few for Ed Brubaker, James Jean, Paul Pope and Darwyn Cooke as well).
That’s about all of the news that excited me out of the San Diego Comic-Con International. If this was the best they could do for such a huge and “important” event, then I’m glad I didn’t decide to trek across the country for it. Dealing with the crowds, the money and the scheduling doesn’t really seem worth it to me anymore.
Maybe I’m finally getting old.
